Suzuki Swift Sport Production Rallycross build

Hi all,
My first post in a very long time, better give you a bit of background, I used to Road Race Motorbikes for many years, then tried 4 wheels in the form of Autograss and loved it, then a swap back to 2 wheels for Enduro.

At the ripe ole age of 55 (I refuse to grow up lol) I really fancy a go at rallycross, so stumbled across the BTRDA ? production 1600cc 16v, so as I always used to race mainly Suzuki Motorbikes decided the Suzuki Swift Sport would be my weapon of choice as it already has forged pistons and high lift variable timing cams, plus know they are used to building very reliable high revving engines. As the had also been used in their own Rallycross and Rally series I expected Google would bring a wealth of info on car build what parts work etc, so I have a few questions if anyone has trodden this path before me,

I can and prefer to twirl my own spanners so would build the car myself, so a few questions on the build:

1. Do you just remove the battery to de activate the airbags prior to removal?
2. Not clear in the regs I have found so far but do I have to keep the cat?
3. I thought there would have been lots of available specialist parts online such as Laminate windows, rally exhausts etc but cannot find a lot and want to sort the genuine bhp gains from boy racer tat

I did do a site search but came up blank but can anyone point me to any good build vids or websites?

Any info would be good so thanks in advance
Cheers
Geoff

It must be noted the engine must be standard and gearbox no diffs allowed, forged pistons or high lift cams!

Cant give you any technical help at all but always great to hear of a new driver wanting to race in the sport ive loved for so many years.
Good luck with the build and hope you get out on track soon from another 55yr old who does the easy thing and just spectates.

Your probably the more sensible one lol, had a near death full coma life support crash that ended my road race days but still want the thrill of racing but always thought Rallycross was for people with very deep pockets but after stumbling accross the Production 1600 cc catergory is sounds reasonable, we are just on the process of moving house from North Wales to West Wales so suspect Pembrey would be my local track?

Just the small matter of a house renovation then the other half said I can play

I'd have thought you could run that in the BTRDA champsionship in the 'clubman 4x4' or 'production 4x4' class (depending on mods).

Regulations: https://clubmansrallycross.weebly.co...ons--info.html

You've got to the "need more power" stage very quickly here

Your comment about the power gave me a smile and it’s typical of me. My love of turbo cars I blame on watching the Audi Quattro Group B cars flying through Clocaenog Forest with glowing red discs and spitting fire, if the devil drove a car it would be one of them???

You are spot on with your class prediction as been in touch with the always very helpful John Rook will just read up on the specs and see, thanks for the link
