I wouldn't be surprised to see different layouts and even a night race maybe?

4 rounds at the same venue is proper club racing.
It just amazing to come across all the factors that have to be accounted for to get a complete season. Has to have x amount of rounds, here, there, and everywhere. Has to finish off in NSW and so forth. It's professional amateurism. Yet, people are going to rip into 2litre cars and TCR? Yeah, good one. |

What’s ambitious about it? It’s the easy answer, do a bunch of races in one spot for the sake of satisfying at TV deal.
Never mind the TV viewers will be sick of watching the same cars go around the same tracks for four weeks straight, SMP struggles to get a crowd anyway for one race a year let alone four back-to-back coming out of Covid restrictions. Bathurst will still be big, but it takes the sting out of the build up if you’re running five times in six weeks and four of them are around the same place with likely the same winners. Cheapens the sport too. |

I’m guessing the first and last weekends will be run on the normal circuit with the middle weekends taking a turn on the short and extended circuit. Both of those are lousy for different reasons but probably better than all 4 on the same layout. Also guessing there will be variety in race lengths with 100,200 and 300 kilometre races all likely.Every Saturday will probably have a night race. Crowds are likely to be capped anyway so spectator numbers aren’t an issue.Agree with some of what you are saying but choosing not to take the tv money and giving up all that tv exposure would be stupid. By the way there should be 2 of these Creek meetings on 7.Originally the Creek meeting was scheduled to be and a second one will have to be given to them as a replacement for Surfers. |

So what does the future hold for the Victorian and Queensland based teams after the flag falls on this year's Great Race?
Maybe, just maybe the Victorian teams will be allowed to return home, but will Queensland remain off limits to people returning from NSW.? I think this is still some way from being settled, however a primarily NSW and Victorian based championship is probably on the cards for next year. |

The QLD teams need to take up a relationship with a footballer each so they can return home.

Next year SHOULD look very different to this year regarding restrictions, lockdowns and border closures - but it really is hard to have any certainty. I don't envy those trying to put together competition calendars, or planning anything that involves travel, public facing businesses, crowds etc.

All 4 weekends at SMSP run on the same track layout. What a waste.

Yes, a bit sad. Only variation is three will be 3x125km race SuperSprint format while the last will be 2x250km races. Some varying tyres for across them and some night races. Still at least they are racing, but could have made more of the opportunity for variation. It is what it is.

Wonder a new street circuit wasn’t built out at Wagga Wagga!
Gladys and the local member Dodgy Dazza could have presented the winners trophy. |
