They're most likely on the same frequency but with a tone lock, so you won't pick them up on a plain old analogue scanner. There are at least three channels in use at Snetterton - one for RC to recovery/rescue/circuit staff etc, one for RC to flags/post chiefs, and one for RC to safety car (which nobody else uses). Additionally last weekend we had the BRSCC safety car channel too, which we used when we were running round in the McLaren.

I've no idea whether they're all parked on the same frequency with tone code/lock though.

Thanks. Is that specific to British GT? MSVR were using 170.900 for the Safety Car at the EnduroKA meeting.

I have also found 166.400 used at some bike meetings.

Probably a bit of a novice question, but is there any significance to having two different frequencies for the same thing? (BGT Safety car etc.)

We have a separate radio, one-to-one to the BGT race director with nothing else cluttering up the channel.

It can mean I end up with four or five handsets to listen to in the car though - ours, flag/post chief, incident (where separate), and a couple of SRO-specific sets.

To confirm, the 163.2750 & 158.7750 pair are specific to BGT.
166.4000 & 171.2000 is a common allocation for many tracks for various uses.
There are two different frequencies listed - the first is the Receive frequency for the handhelds (ie the Radio Repeater output). The second is the Transmit Frequency for the handhelds (the input to the repeater). If you're using a scanner, the Repeater output (ie 163.275) will usually be the best/strongest signal.

Spot on Greem, albeit MRTC have made a bit of an error by allocating one of the HHC Motorsports channels to 158.775 as well. They're on a different DCS tone to you, but they'd be better off on a different frequency altogether.

I've managed four (FunCup), never five, why two SRO channels, completely as a matter of interest?

My Maycom AR-108 scanner has finally given up on me and will only now provide me with a day full of white noise, looking for recommendations on a replacement for sub £100 any suggestions please?

The Uniden 'Close Call' feature is handy if you don't know the relevant frequency you are looking for:-
