Well all Bagnaia has to do is stay on and finish in the first 15 even if Quartararo wins!
Jorge Martin takes the final pole position of the season (and his third in a row) at the Valencia MotoGP finale, while Fabio Quartararo will start four places ahead of title rival Francesco Bagnaia.
Desperate for a front-row place, Quartararo pushed his Yamaha over the limit but ran wide on his final lap.
Bagnaia was 12th, last and having a few unstable moments under braking by the midway stage of the 15-minute shootout but salvaged a place on the third row on his final run.
Reigning champion Quartararo must win with Bagnaia finishing 15th or lower to snatch the title away from the Ducati star on Sunday.
Bagnaia's team-mate Jack Miller fell in his final qualifying for Ducati but kept a place on the front row, where he will start just behind Repsol Honda's Marc Marque
Pramac's Johann Zarco also brought out late yellow flags and was left ninth.
Maverick Vinales and Alex Rins progressed through Qualifying 1 but a fall for Enea Bastianini left the Gresini rider - battling Aleix Espargaro for third in the world championship - to start from 13th.

Well quite frankly that was a bit of an anti climax apart from Binder charging through, Quartararo rode the wheels off the Yamaha as usual but couldn't make up the gap to the leading bunch and Bagnaia did what he had to do but not without a reminder from his upcoming team mate as to who's the fastest.

Pleased for Bagnaia. Didn't make a mistake and took the title with ease. What a turnaround from the middle of the season when it looked all over. Quartararo did his best, but didn't seem to have the pace

Rins gave Suzuki a perfect farewell present with that win. Big mistake by Marquez. I think he's never going to be back to his absolute best

Fernandez deserves the Moto2 title. Frankly Ogura was lucky that Augusto made that mistake in Australia, otherwise he wouldn't even have had a look in

it was Ogura's championship to lose this year that he did in the previous round with that silly lapse!
Years ago, I had won a championship with 3 rounds to go and as I was under no pressure, I won the last 3 as well. You must race with your head if you are in contention

In a perfect world, yes you're absolutely right. But many of them are so young…
