Not if Miss Piggy has any say in the matter...

Murph, you were right on the money. Ken Tyrrell made his fortune as a timber merchant, before he decided to devote it to being the best team owner in the history of ever.

Not that I'm biased, of course.

Not a bad Formula 3 driver in his day, either - back in the days when one Bernard C Ecclestone was a relatively average Formula 3 driver.

My favourites are Giancarlo Minardi and Eddie Jordan - both of them have done so much for their teams and for F1 to remind us all that racing is what it should be all about.

My most hated? Flabio Briatore, thanks to his one-man mission to see Minardi vanish from F1.

Black Jack is the Best

Jack Brabham is by far the best. He built his own car, got Repco (Aussi) to do the engine, drove the car himself, and won the WDC with it. No one can top that!!

Flavio Briattore is my most hated team boss. Why? I'll tell why. Do you remember the 1994 season, well remember before the season even started Senna driving the ultimate F1 car was odds on favourite to walk the season- no other team no other driver was going to touch Senna as their wasn't a car or engine to compete with Williams Renault F1 and Senna was well on his way to picking up his fourth World Championship title and going down in history as the truely greatest driver to live.

Unfortunately this didn't happen. Flavio arrived on the scene and from then on things went badly for Senna. Senna took pole in Brazil the first race of the season but was wiped out at the start by Schumacher. Schumacher start was so fast it was unbelievable- Schumacher has since then proven himself not to be the best starter-so was this Schumacher brillance or a sly starting mechanism. Could Flavio be involved in dirty tricks. Once Schumacher got ahead of Senna in Brazil there was no looking back. Senna lost sight of him within a few laps. I admit Schumacher is a brillant driver but to desimate a former 3 time Champion in a Ford Cosworth powered car looks very suspicious.

On to Japan and Senna is caught on camera talking pastionately to Flavio is this a polite conversation about the weather- I doubt it- it is more like Senna is demanding to know what tricks Briatore is playing to get a Ford Cosworth up to speed with Senna, Renault and Adrian Newy(an unbeatable combination). The Japanese race starts and once again Senna is past by Schumacher at the start. And worst is to follow for Aryton when he gets punted by Hakkinen on the first corner.

Now the pressure is on. Senna has no points and Schumacher has 20. Aryton needs something from Imola. Once again he is on pole and this time he gets a good start. But wait things once again go wrong for Aryton. The race has to be re-started as JJ lehto crashes at the start- is this Briattore playing another trick. Flavio knew Lehto was rubbish and he knew Senna wouldn't like following a safety car so was this a tactic make Lehto the sacrifical lamb.

The safety car comes out and the field pack up behind Senna- the race restarts and sadly we all know the ending of the story!

So Briattore I feel had to of conived something up to get that Ford going as fast as it was going. Remember in Belgium Schumachers victory was taken away as his board on the bottom of his car was to narrow and there were other fines throughout the year for fuel infringements. So did all these Flavio tricks end up killing Aryton - I definitely think they contributed!

I was also deeply suspicious of Flavio and the speed of the Benneton.

Okay, this seems a bit far fetched to me. There have been several times when Michael's had a good start after that, for one, remember Magny Cours '98? This conspiracy theory sounds like it's X files on the track. Besides, if '94 was dodgy, then just look at Michael's crash last year. The reason he crashed was because a brake nipple had come loose. This part of the car hadn't been touched since the car was last on the track, so how did it come loose, on a car like the Ferrari, it wasn't a dodgy part? Was there a traitor in the Ferrari garage? Probably not, it's just one of those things that happened, and although the consequences were tragic, you can't change it and you can't assume that someone had an unfair hand in it. I agree what happened in '94 was a lot more serious, as was Monza last month, but I believe in Fate, and that what's meant to happen will happen.
Dhru.
