2022 Race of Champions

The 2023 Race of Champions will be held on January 28-29. Like last year, it's an ice track at Pite Havsbad in Piteå, northern Sweden.

Drivers and teams announced:

* Germany: Mick Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel.
* Finland: Mika Häkkinen, Valtteri Bottas.
* Norway: Petter Solberg, Oliver Solberg.
* Sweden: John Kristoffersson, Felix Rosenqvist.
* Great Britain: David Coulthard, Jamie Chadwick.
* Other drivers: Tom Kristensen, Thierry Neuville, Felipe Drugovich.

We went to The Race of Champions a number of times, starting with the original venue in Gran Canaria. After enduring the chilly temperatures of Paris & Wembley we vowed to only visit events in warmer climates, the last one we went to was Bangkok 10 years ago as this fitted in with our requirements.
For obvious reasons we did not consider this year or next...

I understand that compared to Bangkok, a wooden shed right in the middle of a frozen desert looks less attractive. I went to all parisian events, because its few miles from home and that I got a invite each time. Enjoyed the free-frozen show tho.

Surprised this event was only one time held in the middle east (2018, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia).

And apparently Team USA is required to have Pastrana on the team, although he did almost win singlehandedly in 2006 when JJ and Speed were both injured.
