Race Observer
This is to contribute to some chat between drivers, as a result of the new emphasis on Track Limits.
The Blue Book speaks of Race Observers as "the eyes and ears of the Clerk" (G.1) Is the senior marshal on a post automatically (or usually) an Observer? Is it they who would call in anyone overstepping the line? Or is a Judge of Fact required? Thanks, for replying if you do, and also for marshaling! John |

Did my first days Observing of the year @ Kirkistown on Saturday.
Surprised that the overalls still fitted and wearing many layers of warmth I had a great time at a tricky esses called Colonials. A free breakfast, 15 races and on the way home @ 17-45, I'll deffo be going back. The track is a mile and a half round and with healthy albeit some mixed grids, there was some good racing, especially watching 25 Formula Vees all wanting the same line into the corner. Back to Stewarding next Saturday @ Nutts Corner, before heading over the sea to Santa Pod. |
