Now that would be a very impressive sight if they can get 70 previous winning cars on the track.

70 out of 85 is pretty impressive.
For the 100th running of the Indy 500 they had 60-ish of the previous winners in the museum. So seeing some run will be a bonus. |

Unpopular opinion. The 787B doesn’t sound good. Loud, different, but not good. (Different is often good, but not sure here)
Like the high revving V8s from F1 that are often missed due to their sound. They were just loud. Not good sounding. There are many 12s, 10s, 8s, 6s and even 4s (of different shapes and orders) that sound better, even if not as ear splitting. There, I’ve said it. Great car though, despite that! |

Exactly, and same with that auditory assault factory from Weissach. Neither was good, just loud. There are plenty of Challengers around here that are just as loud, they don't sound good either

Only one ever made it to be a ring tone on my phone.... the BRM V16. Complete with inevitable misfire!

On the MP podcast there seems to be a suggestion that there will be no support races at all on the Saturday, and that this parade will take over instead.
I’m all for that if they’re going to charge at pace down the pit-straight. It’s quite frustrating how a huge proportion of the paying crowd gather there for the build-up on race day, but it’s the one bit of the track you won’t see anything interesting go past you |

There’s a lot of hours to fill on Saturday. If open track and Mulsanne show finish around 7pm on the Friday the parade - 50 odd cars at 1 min intervals?- shouldn’t take all night. They may fill up with a few more one make parades but a couple of 45 min races on Saturday wouldn’t go amiss. 6 hours or so of parades with the odd stream of corporate BMs or Porsches doing a fast lap could be a bit much.
If push too much to Friday it’ll all get badly delayed - thought track opened last year 40 to 45 mins late on Friday - so lots of crowd congestion before pitlane walk. Is the auction on track on Friday too? |

The memories it brings back to me from those times are of the horrible noise! Which is cool, and I wouldn’t change it, but I’m not going to pretend it was nice. |

There isn’t actually that much time to fill before the race. With all the pageantry there is no proper track action from hours before the race. The support races have to be finished a long time before.
