The result stands. Congrats to Newgarden on back to back wins at TMS but he must consider himself lucky with Grosjean going into the wall. Great drive from O'Ward.

I sadly don't have access to nbc right now so missed the race. Sounds like it was a short oval race.

Shame about the Grosjean crash, ruined a grandstand finish. Perhaps Indycar need to think about this. Take a leaf out of F1's book and red flag and start again. Or think about NASCAR overtime rules. That was fun. Scary at times, but fun. |

Race Result:
So far this season, all two races of it, have been a repeat of last season, with McLaughlin and Newgarden winning the first two races. The Pole sitter and race winner were also a repeat of last year's race, Rosenqvist and Newgarden respectively. Overall, I thought that was a good race. |

Finishing this way is far better than the convoluted nonsense that happens in F1 and NASCAR. |

At least NASCAR is open and you know going in the FCY means GWC and everyone knows what's going on. F1 was a logic problem only a lawyer could attempt. Sometimes racing incidents happen on the last lap or 2 and that's just part of the race, wave the appropriate flag and we get to whinge on about Pato taking control one lap later and the 2 cautions that really screwed him, Felix and Romain.

I missed the first quarter of the race or so. The last quarter was simply excellent.
I like late race red flags, but not at the second-to-last lap of an oval race. IndyCar was correct this time. |

Also, great race by Agustin Canapino, he finished 12th with no errors.
He could not believe the chaos around him. Once he said he was concerned by his lack of pace, and asked which rivals were on his strategy. Juncos replied to him: "you're doing an great race, you dumbass". https://twitter.com/Campeonesnet/sta...05618904047617 |

Be interesting to see how they describe the F1 race, AJC used farce twice early
But no mention of the Indy race in it It appears Texas had a decent size crowd, no crowd statements released but track says double digit increase in crowd size https://racer.com/2023/04/03/tms-mov...r-crowd-boost/ |

That was a crazy finish. Good for Josef. Hate it for PatO. He looked good for a bunch of the race.
More entertaining than I expected but still a bunch cringy moments.... |

Such a good finish, about as good as you can get at Texas, any more DF, they will pack race, and less and its a parade
Gutting to see the car that nearly put the entire field a lap down at one point get screwed by a yelllow though, but that's racing sometimes I suppose Has INDYCAR always allowed the entire lap down cars a lap back? Everyone likes to get on their high horse about NASCAR and F1s recent late race artificiality but it didn't feel like this was the case in the days of pre-split racing at pheonix when the entire field could be 1 or 2 laps down to the leader (even if that leader eventually wrecked......PAUL ) |

In practice, the leaders stop as soon as the pitlane is open. The next lap, lapped cars do their stop, and so on. That's how they recover their lap. The same thing may happen in F1 or any other championship, except if everyone is forced to stop at the first attempt (which I think is never the case). |

Absorbing battle. O'Ward just closed down Newgarden a bit too much there and I'm assuming from that article above and from what I say that they did actually just tag each other, didn't they?

At the time I thought they night have tagged each other but looking at this I would say they did. 23:03 https://youtu.be/I3LHpQEe2ro |
