That wasn't the most exciting race but an ok race. I believe that was only the 6th time the pole sitter has won the Long Beach Grand Prix, correct me if I am wrong.
Great result for Andretti Autosport. In complete contrast to the season opener at St. Pete. Not a good day for Arrow McLaren, though Pato O'Ward is still second in the driver's championship. A better race for RLLR but what is going on with Meyer-Shank? Is it Karma for Daytona? Honda dominated qualifying taking the top five places and now they've done the same in the race. The drivers standing for the first 6 places is as follows. Ericsson 110, O'Ward 95, Palou 91, Newgarden 89, Kirkwood 74, Dixon 72. |

So what happened with Canapino? The race highlights don't show how the car got damaged.

Sounded like Helio bumped him in to the wall and something went so he got the wall again. Parked for a bit but then back out well back, he was getting swamped at the mid-race restart and almost shoved/spun a couple times in that pack

More disturbingly, Ilott then got a load of abuse and actual death threats on social media from fans of Canapino. No place for that. |

Yeah, as much as team info and news through Twitter etc is beneficial leaving that cesspool behind is a good thing.
Thanks, the NBC guys seemed to forget that was going on and then they quickly skipped over any details it felt like cause there were cars almost hitting each other with big names so they went there instead |

Congrats to Kyle!
Not the most thrilling race but was intriguing up to the end. |

Thought both of his previous incidents were all on him. Not sure where Dixon was supposed to go but I do get he was full along side. Still.... |

I dug deep into my inner nerd and did some internet trawling. Since 2008, when series unification took place and which spans 15 races (2020 was canceled due to the pandemic), the pole-sitter has gone on to win at Long Beach only thrice: '18 Alexander Rossi '19 Alexander Rossi '23 Kyle Kirkwood Prior to that, when Long Beach was a CART/Champ Car event, which spans 20 races, the pole sitter has gone on to win only 8 times '84 Mario Andretti '85 Mario Andretti '87 Mario Andretti '89 Al Unser, Jr. '90 Al Unser, Jr. '01 Helio Castroneves '06 Sebastien Bourdais '07 Sebastien Bourdais When Long Beach hosted the US Grand Prix West, which was 8 races, four winners started from Pole. '76 Clay Regazzoni '78 Carlos Reutemann '79 Gilles Villeneuve '80 Nelson Piquet |

Dang, you did your homework! Marshall had a fun interview post-race with Kirkwood. The interview was happening during the Stadium Trucks post-race press conference and Matty Brabs kept interrupting their interview, it was hilarious! https://youtu.be/faJg4p1vIV8 |

Only just caught up!
Sting Ray. 18th. Solid. Three places higher than he started. Whereas Kirkwood, who won the race, didn’t improve at all. |
