Glad to see Donington twice again, produces the best races in my opinion. Still wish they’d do something more with the Silverstone round!
Also starting a week later than this year. |

I guess there are no other uk circuits that are viable to host the btcc but I’d love to see them at Cadwell.

Cadwell is a non-starter for multiple reasons the least of which is the actual track. No garages, limited tarmac paddock space etc etc.

Very even spacing of two weeks between all the rounds (with the exception of the summer break and a 'missing round' in September) for 2024 again like this year. Previously there's been a lot more 3 or 4 week gaps and the very, very occassional single week gap.

Would be nice to see a street circuit implemented for the BTCC but this is as likely to happen as me going to the moon. Besides, at least half of the grid would need to be barred from racing, otherwise the full distance would be spent behind a SC... But from the show perspective, the street race would be exciting.
Also, shame there are no new tracks in the UK. As much as I like all the circuits that the BTCC races at, it'd be nice to see some new ones... One might only dream I suppose |

This is sarcasm right, silverstone along with Donington is the worst track on the calender. Think they should have two rounds at oulton park to be honest. One on the island track then the other on the full track.

The problem with Oulton is that they can only use the circuit for four Sundays a year. Therefore, a Superbike meeting, or the Historic Gold Cup, would need to be jettisoned, which seems unlikely. Also, the lack of track time on Sunday morning creates issues in scheduling all of the support races.

Brands is acceptable because there’s so much difference between the two circuits that it doesn’t feel like the same place. Donington with the loop, for me, doesn’t add anything. Silverstone offers two completely different circuits, not just an extension of the same one. That’s actual variety. Edit - I say that as someone who hates Silverstone as a spectator too, it’s by far the worst circuit in the country if you’re trackside but I still think it would be a better option. Anything is better than two identical Thruxton rounds though. |

Yea that 2020 plan to use the International layout of Silverstone has never resurfaced which is a shame.

Personally I think the National Circuit is better, not only for racing, but for spectators too. Using the International the cars get strung out and fewer laps. Just my opinion as a marshal/observer.

Certainly the national circuit promotes slipstreaming which keeps the action close. Although it would have been nice to see how they did on the "Buckinghamshire" circuit

A lot of each weekends' teams are not fully paid, or possibly paid at all in some cases, members of their teams, and as has been said above, they possibly have families and have to take time away during the school holiday.
It's not the end of the world; other things do happen to occupy our time during the summer gap and some of us even go away on our hols. |

From a TV coverage aspect, the summer break is inevitable. I know some BTCC fans don't want to hear this but Tour de France is a huge ratings winner for ITV4. In terms of viewer numbers, BTCC doesn't even come close. Unless BTCC moves away from ITV or ITV lose the right to TdF, there's always going to be a clash and TdF will always get priority.
That's not to say there wouldn't be a break even without the clash. |
