Not good but not bad either. Maybe a generous 5.

I couldn't give the race my full attention, as I was watching the IndyCar race but the Canadian GP came across as rather processional and for that I'll give it 4.

8/10
It was very entertaining and I was glued to the screen throughout. I was keen to go get a snack, but did not as the race was far too gripping! I truly cannot believe that people think Spain was better and that drivers like Albon shouldn't have a chance to defend?! Why shouldn't overtaking be difficult and end up in failed attempts in the run-off area like happened here? The 100 meaningless DRS drivebys and impossibility of defending in Spain was ridiculous. We are here to see a motor race with tension and suspense (which the Canadian GP delivered in spades), not cars quickly breezing past each other to easily sort themselves in order of fastest to slowest. I think it's outrageous that people think it should be possible to breeze past other cars. For the overtakes that did happen they had to work for it, as it should be. They had to apply pressure for many laps before making a move that may not necessarily pay off, as it should be (e.g., Norris' unsuccessful attempt at the final chicane on the last lap). I absolutely agree, DRS didn't really work here and paradoxically that demonstrated why it should go. We saw battles developing over multiple laps and drivers being forced to be creative to find a way past, this is what motor racing should be, drivers pressing the magic button and breezing past, personally I'm not interested in that and today was such a refreshing change. |

I agree, especially using DRS to breeze past other cars. |

I am not sure why you would give this a high score.
For me, if I summarize the race, its is: 1. the race started 2. Russell ran into wall and caused safety car 3. some cars did not pit under safety car and gained advantage 4. race finished I do not have feeling I missed something, so if that was summary then it was just boring, no? |

It was an uneventful race for Verstappen, Lecclerc and Sainz, but it was not by any means uneventful for anyone else! |

Apart from no battle for the lead, this race had lots going on. The fights further down the field were very good, and there were a few excellent genuine overtakes that had to be worked at rather than gifted through DRS.
I gave it a 6. Because it would have been better if someone could take the fight to Verstappen. It was not the best race ever, but I don't know why so many people are saying it was boring, because there usually was something of interest happening. |

I'm stunned that this circuit could produce such a dull race.

A very generous 6.
Although the Ferraris and Perez moved up the field a lot they did it without any of the exciting passing you would normally associate with that. |

Qually was good (rain does that) but the race didn't really press my buttons. Watching at midnight after a long tiring day probably didn't help. 6.

I didn't find it as dull as some, there were at least some spirited efforts, notably Lando, Alonso on Hamilton, K Mag and De Vries. I actually thought it was better than some this season. it was another Max benefit of course and the Ferraris are back in nowhere land, but on the highlights I watched, I thought it was reasonable. 6.

I gave it 10, not because it was an amazing race by any stretch of the imagination but because I want to skew the statistics a bit

but since im voting after seeing the whole race with the knowledge of how none of those ingredients ever came together, i was admittedly let down in the end. Last edited by chillibowl; 19 Jun 2023 at 15:33. |

A couple of disappointing posts on this thread. Hope BR doesn't get discouraged.
Though not a lot of overtaking there were quite a few failed attempts and mistakes could mean losing a few places. I gave it a 6. |

I gave it an 8, certainly some good battles down the field, if the winner wasn't challenged. Plenty of drama throughout and overall plenty to talk about. One of the best this season so far, even if we could have had more, but there you go.

A very enjoyable race without too much DRS. We can see proper moved without it and good tension but viable passing. It deserves a good score. Lacked the Montréal madness that we sometimes witness, but that shouldn't take anything away from it. I'm between a 7 and an 8. I'll actually go for an 8, be ause it's such a relief to see DRS not having such an effect.
