IndyCar lets Felix put before calling yellow, that whole rule might need to be examined in the off-season

That's probably JUST inside the rules for Ericsson there, be was easing across the track and caught Rossi out. But then Ericsson moved back right after the contact to slow Herta too

Leave it as is, they've been good about applying it fairly and evenly when they can safely. Dixie has benefited from it too as have many of the drivers this season.

Graham got it dead on right, the team screwed him but not looking and changing. But that seems to be RLL way, follow the chart of when to pit not the action on track

Palou will end up with more Top 10s than anyone before in his first 65 starts, 44 top 10s. 2/3 of the time he's in the top third of the field. And wonder how many of the non-top 10s were year 1 in DCR car

Herta being the on board and screwed it up. But hey, points for the rolling bump start and no FCY |

So burnout, spins or no celebrations?
And decent donuts, smoky but short, it is Ok, it's been 18 years before a driver clinched before last race, but how many would have been without that stupid double points experiment? |

Is that camera his new race team now that he signed it?
And hopefully the camera guy gets to take that cover off and keep it, or at least mount in the production truck |

All in all that race was probably a fitting way for the championship to end. Palou's racecraft was just phenomenal all year. And who is going to beat ganassi in the future? Scotty Mac seems like he's got most of his stuff put together, and if Pato can ever stop dive bombing people in the first half of the season he has a shot.

Race Result
Alex Palous's second driver's title is the 15th driver's championship for Chip Ganassi Racing, which now puts them one behind Team Penske. There is still one race left to go, with the Manufacturer's Championship still to be decided between Chevrolet and Honda. Last edited by bjohnsonsmith; 4 Sep 2023 at 12:49. Reason: typo |

Penultimate race of the year and a result he didn’t need to do, but Robb puts Power in his place.
Also good to see Palou clinch it it. That was also impressive. He’s pretty good |

Ganassi have the two best champions in the series.
And a serious coming man for next year. A daunting prospect for the rest of the field! |

I had heard Alex Palou had won the series but didn't know he won the race till I watched it earlier this week. Pretty decent race at a track I really love! Still a lot of issues getting burned on strategies and yellows but as Dixie's race director said, welcome to IndyCar.
Congrats to Palou! What a driver! And congrats to Chip Ganassi racing! |
