Rather against my usual judgement... Aston. They seem to have found something.
I suspect it's Alonso's mojo |

Red Bull got the most out of the race but for sentimental reasons Aston Martin got the vote.

Tricky to know who to give this to. That was Aston-Martin's best result since Melbourne, where they were 3rd and 4th. Red Bull had the best overall result but missed out on getting a double podium. However, they have now won 17 races in a season, equaling Mercedes' record from 2016 and having done that in one less race. RBR, just.

Aston Martin - where did that come from?
That was sheer embarrassment for Mercedes.... Last edited by Aysedasi; 6 Nov 2023 at 08:27. |

Red Bull, good drives by both drivers, with a special mention to Aston. And the less said about Merc the better

Some things they said on Sky made me wonder. Have AM gone back to the car before the upgrades, so that's why are actually quick fast again, or are they getting to grips with the upgrades? If it's the latter, they definitely are the team of the weekend. If it's the former, they are to be congratulated for a well done base design, but bodes very ill for their next year.
Anyhow, I say they gave us something to cheer about, and that's worth a lot! |

It’s interesting Aston were quicker in qualifying for the main race that for the sprint race. However it’s clear from both races they seem to have got their race pace sorted. So maybe they just need to keep qualifying near the front

Red Bull are still in a class of their own, so sometimes I give it to them. Usually though I prefer to give it to one of the Class B teams. Ferrari blew their chance by breaking one car before the race even started. McLaren had one car right at the sharp end but the other was right out of it (why?). Mercedes were just painfully slow. So Aston Martin get my vote by getting back to almost where they started the season.

Plus he had to start from the pitlane at the restart, so was unlikely to progress in a hobbled car |
