Neuville's off was so innocuous just one corner from the start, he just understeered into the trees for no appparent reason. The treacherous heavy rain on those twisty, leaf strewn forest roads tested everyone yesterday I think they were all pleased to just finish with Evans as surprised as anyone to top the leader board! Talk about changeable conditions today, sun, sleet and hailstones to add to the mix, so pleased to see Elfyn going into the final day with a healthy points advantage.

Yep, good to see him getting another win - seemed like there was an element of "survival" for all of the drivers in this one. A clean sweep of the podium for Toyota as well - a shame for Katsuta that he had problems though as he had good pace at times over the weekend.

Great way to end the year for Evans. Shows he still has it. Katsuta really used his local knowledge to his advantage
Another title to Rovanpera, now it’s going to be interesting with him having only a part schedule next year |

Hoping that M-Sport can bring the drivers (and cars) to get themselves in the mix. |

Just because the WRC has finished doesn't mean the 2023 season has finished.....
It's day 1 of the 5 day 350 mile marathon Roger Albert Clark Rally....... Plenty of live coverage on You Tube, Facebook.... |

Haven't posted on ten tenths for years, but do still look from time to time. I was prompted to respond to something in the hillclimb section recently, regarding advice about my local venue. Kind of rekindled my enthusiasm to contribute.
I was hoping to get stage side to see some of the RAC this weekend but sadly can't make it. Love an Escort but rooting for the Truimph TR for the sake of variety even if they weren't the best Rally car! I'll have to watch Rally Japan recording and the grand prix on TV instead. At least I'll be warmer! |

RAC is for historic cars? But I saw also a few modern (Peugeot) cars.

There's an 'open' class that those cars were in, I haven't looked at the regs in detail but I think it's 2wd only for moderns. There were some Escorts in the open class as well - I assume those would be running non-historic engines/gearboxes.

Kris Meeke and Oliver Solberg drove a pair of Ford Escort Mk2.

The RAC has great stages. Purely judged on diversity I prefer Legend Boucles de Bastogne. |

No way I could have fitted in a trip to the RAC around work and other commitments this year, but I thought the coverage was superb (especially with retro presentation for extra nostalgia!).
As Bert says it seemed to be a mainly Escort affair, but there were some other interesting cars in the mix. Real shame to see Meeke out so early as he looked on form and ditto for Pryce who seemed to be the only driver close to Solberg pace at that point. A measured drive and well deserved win for Marty McCormack, though it is Seb Perez that seems to be the most memorable part of the event: don't think I have seen/heard a comment from someone who was there who hasn't mentioned how good it was to see and hear that Stratos on stage! Must have been gutting to have retired on the last stage, but making such a huge impression on the spectators must be some consolation. |

Another working party to try to solve the issues of the sport.......involving the same DR who changed the sport (not for the better) over 20 years ago. |
