Why is it that everybody that doesn't attend wants the mess with the Petit?

So the wheel of destiny has been spun and we get.....

AMG and Huracan get 15kg added, 296 gets 20kg (of run all season ******s) added

M4 gets 4.4hp taken away

M4 and NSX lose 1 liter of fuel while 911, 296 and C8 get 1 liter added

The 1 kg loss for Acura and 1kw power added to Caddy, Porsche and BMW at Indy hold for Petit

Nah, only crazy if you pretend all tracks are exactly the same layout and speeds. I just figure the info is out there and I'll just enjoy cars on tracks, smell of partially burnt dead dino juice, cigars, whiskey and bs. And the BoP stuff can be ignored

There’s a few things I’d change but overall, that was an incredible season of racing.

People keep asking “are we in the dawn of a golden era?” and I don’t get why. We’re in it already. The cars are stunning, the diver talent in GTP is word class, the competition is close and the garnish on top is enough nonsense to create some spicy drama.

And the best part? It has the potential to get even better.

Kinda sad that MSR is mostly remembered for this, instead of their wins and 2022 championship... but they got what they deserved.

Well in terms they used of Story of the Year?? Every year there is a champ, not every year does someone so blatantly cheat

Exactly. That's why I agree with S365's choice for the story of the year and see it as a little extra "punishment" for MSR, so sportscar racing fans don't forget too quickly about what happened. Also I think there's at least one positive of this as all the other teams surely got the message that it's not worth trying to replicate MSR's trick That message would have been even stronger if MSR had been stripped of their Daytona "victory" but I guess we have to respect IMSA's decision.

I doubt Shank has read it, but if he has, hopefully it stung a little.

I think the article sums up the situation quite well. MSR didn’t need to do that, but they did and it’s tarnished their reputation a little

“I think it wasn’t easy for them, because nobody likes to be accused of those things. It’s not nice to read some of the things people said. “I read something ridiculous about restarts, and silly comments that don’t even make sense. It’s just not nice for the people in the team.
“Obviously [there were] a lot of people in the team who had no idea [what was going on] getting accused. It’s not nice, people don’t enjoy that. And the intentions of most people there were not for it to end up how it ended up.

I think when you have nothing wise to say, better say nothing.

People also don't enjoy cheating, Tom, especially when they win.

He'll make a fine partner to Pipo Derani, they can share there "woe is me" stories in the garage.
