Skaife On The Outer With RACE Board?
Story Here
…as written by the colloquially described “10 Beers” from Auto Action.. Trouble in paradise, or wishful thinking? Or perhaps poised for a shake up to add the new owners from Liberty..? |

If people were looking for both eyes open and not blue ones they would see
the sport is better with Skaife involved. REmove him and add a bean counter with no experience to his role and then see what happens. (waiting for the hate) |

Skaife is one of Australia's most successful motor sport competitors, I will admit he can be very polarizing, but he has heaps of experience, ask Fred Gibson or Jim Richards. I do also think a lot of people a just jealous of his achievements.

It is about his ability as a business person and his relationships with a lot of the sports stakeholders.Add in the complete botched job he did with the “cheaper” Gen 2 and his hopelessness as a commentator and it is difficult to see positives. |

Similarly, his input shouldn't be automatically ignored or dismissed simply due to anybody's antipathy to him. All that aside, there seems to be writing of some sort on a wall somewhere, but it seems difficult to read... I haven't gone looking for the why's/wherefore's behind the Rogers' washing their hands of the category, but given their interests in and commitment to Australian motorsport, and their ability to make their involvement profitable, but they obviously determined that it's nothing they want/need to be involved in any further. Again. |

Ned & Jeff Browne are running Collingwood FC (CEO & Chairman) amongst their various business interests & have history with Supercars. Both the equal of any investment bankers for a board seat. Skaife was always going to battle without Ned. Last edited by cavvy; 19 Mar 2024 at 02:27. Reason: clarity |

It was the bean counters who took over F1 and made it what it is today so why not SC though my view has always been on the pessimistic side with the current management showing zero initiative. Maybe the bean counters can kick the series into life as Liberty have done with F1.

@GTRMagic former beancounter and absolute treasure
long from the heady days when you were papped in the BJR garage in AutoAction. Was it really you? or is that a mystery? |
