Lando.
Great tyre management helped by always running in clean air. |

It's funny how few times the racewinner wins this.
Verstappen set pole and then won in probably the third fastest chassis on the grid, but somehow isn't driver of the day. I understand why it isn't the fashion to vote for such, but it's funny nonetheless. |

This time around I gave it to Lando again, because he looked after his tyres better (the second set, anyway) and was putting Verstappen under real pressure. Maybe Lando was a little optimistic to say he just needed a couple more laps but in time he would have got by. |

Yes he won, but we're all to used to that. For me, the fact that given another couple of laps he may well not have won is far more noteworthy. Lando for me.

Plus it's more fun to give it to different drivers when you can. I have voted for Max once in a main race and once in a sprint race, so I haven't ignored him completely.

I'm giving it to Lance Stroll, for once not messing up his race and giving himself and Aston-Martin some much needed points, after what started out as a pretty dismal race weekend.

Can you be sure it was the third fastest chassis?

I think Ferrari and McLaren are potentially past Red Bull now, but probably need a couple more races to show it isn't track specific.
There's definitely an argument that they've been ahead of Red Bull at Miami, Imola and Monaco. Imola win being down to an exceptional Max pole, transcending the car. |
