The Desafio Ruta 40 is this weekend. It has 5 stages from Córdoba to San Juan and back to Córdoba, with 2,085 km timed.



It has 115 entries, including:

IIRC the Nissan, at least some of them, have the GT-R GT3 engine.

And important TV coverage may be. People having seen the "cars" report they are impressive and seem bigger than the other competitors. Interesting if they intend to fly above the rocks instead of hitting or avoiding them. I think we can expect something spectacular but as to winning for a first appearance I have some doubt.

I admit I am surprised Ford goes "all in". I mean it's not some local Ford Europe project but really Ford Dearborn.

But apparently Dakar (other rally raid events don't really count) is still attractive for manufacturers. Probably because it's relative cheap and in a time of the year when there's little other motorsport.
