Despite the water system problem that forced George Russell to retire, I'm going with Mercedes. They got both cars onto the front row and were looking good in the race, up until George Russell retired.

Yes if that water issue had not happened then Mercedes would have had the top 2 steps for sure, seems they are finally getting thier act together

Struggling to work this one out - Mercedes lost a car to reliability, McLaren bungled the strategy, Red Bull only had one car in the fight, Ferrari botched strategy, Aston finished about where you'd expect, Alpine were awful, Sauber were awful, RB, Williams and Haas did roughly what you'd expect of them. Gave it to Williams in the end for probably outperforming expectations most.

Yes it's hard to pick one, each team hit problems, there's no clear winner

A retirement in the race should have excluded Mercedes from my possible choices, but they have really moved forward and got everything else right, so they get my vote.

Merc for handling a double stop whereas McLaren took a chance and blew it. RB did great with Max but like Ferrari, the choice to go to inters early did not play out.

I would have given it to McLaren.... only for some awful strategic work to cost them a good day. None of the other normal contenders did anything much, so for me its between Haas Aston or Williams.
In the end I abstained on the basis of no one team struck me as doing a standout decent job. Didnt interfere with what was a brilliant race though. |

Given the way McLaren strategy calls crucified both Piastri and Norris it is a strange choice by some people to make them Team Of The Race.
Maybe the team most capable of turning a 1-2 into a 3-4. |

For me the change from floundering to win at Silverstone is worth a vote for Mercedes.
Really impressive to see a Haas machine that high up the ranking as well. They seem to have come to grip with their car. In comparison, I understand why Sainz seem to hesitate to sign for Sauber/Audi. They seem totally unable to develop a car, which looks extremely bad if corporate expectations are going to be applied later on. Anti vote for my boys and girls in Woking. They really need to get better at strategy, *fast*! |
