Well if you were an actual race fan you would know his car was at ViR in SRO America this weekend. It ran yesterday in the test with Braun but it's not on the practice list today.

And reasonable, it doesn't appear like he was in the hauler for the video this morning. They lost 10% of their value this morning, haven't seen the close but guessing it's not good. Have feeling the Crowdstrike involvement in racing might be coming to an end soon. The general public and bad media types still keep calling it Microsoft issue so maybe that will help but the IT guys all know

And in fairness to him I guarantee he didn't write, approve or review the update for quality. Now will be be held responsible for poor management and have lost a ton of money, yeah probably. But evil capitalist without a care, not so much. But to misapply and misstate a quote, with great pay (or investor profit) comes great responsibility

Pretty much. There is no way Kurtz (or anyone at Crowdstrike) wanted this to happen, but it did, on his watch. He'll carry the can and to avoid further negative PR, I don't think he'll race again this season.

One of the issues he will have is they had this problem (which appears to be a quality control issue with a definitions update) after sacking 200 staff members last year, under dodgy circumstances, to avoid layoffs. It isn't a good look to drop 200 people, and then cripple the world through poor quality control. Whilst I would not call him an evil capitalist without care, his company has made some bad immoral decisions under his watch - decisions which are illegal outside of the US as well, due to various labour laws.

The job I'm in currently uses Crowdstrike for penetration testing. The product is fine, but not the best we've used. The job I moved to in 2 weeks uses it for endpoint protection. They were part of the outage.

And it turns out there was a precedent, but it wasn't given attention at the time because it only affected certain Linux distributions.

I think the question now is will Kurtz see out the season or dip immediately?

Have to think with the loss of share value and appearance they have to fold for the year. At the very least he shouldn't be in the car so I could see them putting someone in or moving things around to keep Braun in the car somehow

CrowdStrike is involved in many other aspects of sponsorship of motorsport. Hope all that money doesn't disappear too.

They luckily had the Aston safety/medical crew in F1 this weekend cause Crowdstrike is on the MB cars
