I can't believe why IndyCar couldn't sit down with a group of manufactures to discuss what engine formula they need to join this series.

IndyCar: only 2

Cause they don't want to be involved

IMSA GTP GM/Acura-already there, Porsche/Lamborghini/BMW-why would they as no carryover of engine and no other series to use it in
GT-similar story to those including Toyota who have stated no interest in the formula

I think they have been attempting this for years. Honda and GM have even offered to help new manufacturers with engineering support. However you slice it Honda and GM spend money to make these programs work, and other manufacturers can't seem to have it make sense for them.
