I do like it. I liked it as soon as I saw it at the launch evening at Daventry. All the BTCC teams had representatives there, and everyone was impressed, both with the presentation and the car.

Who cares what it looks like? And that the chap that designed the rear end wasn't the same chap that designed the front? The different team liveries will completely change the look of the car anyway.

It's the engineering that's important, and they've achieved a very impressive outcome in a short amount of time. I think it will be a hoot to drive, and (as intended), it will be a great entry-level car that will teach valuable skills to the youngsters completing.

It is a sequential manual gearbox just like how BTCC cars have a sequential manual gearbox and how most modern race cars have a similar concept

I cant think of many series where they race automatics

Manual does not mean H pattern

Even then there are plenty of series that still use H Pattern Gearboxes

The Minis that were supporting the BTCC at Donnington Park have a H pattern Gearbox

There are junior championships for 14-17 year olds currently running that use H pattern gearboxes

I think BTCC is being sensible by evolving the rules, rather than going for a complete clean sheet of paper. There's still plenty of positives in this current rule set. Hopefully the new rules will encourage more different makes
