Nothing in any of the previous comments relating to driving standards or road conditions would not also apply to the UK. IMO.

Ok, we may not have quite so many unsurfaced minor roads, but give it a few months and a cold winter and we will probably catch up quickly.

I was recently told that car manufacturers are surprised at the number of warranty claims they are dealing with for suspension bushing failure, suspension arm failure and non-warranty replacement of wheels and, more often, tyres with severe abnormal wear related issues.

There are a few sections of road I use quite frequently where the pothole dodging game, even with constant refamiliarising use, is becoming impossible.

Will they "fix" the holes during winter? Who knows?

If they do - will they last until spring? Doubtful.

Not always easy but you do not want to be stuck in a narrow lane or somewhere which has very limited space .
Good point about checking access and space using Street View before delivering vehicles. That's so helpful to avoid getting stuck somewhere with limited maneuvering room. It's also a smart safety practice because you don't want to have to backup on a narrow road without being able to see clearly.

That stretch between Peso da Régua and Pinhão looks stunning! Thanks for the recommendation, @NaBUru38!
