Ford fans have the agenda - need to get over the fact that DJR will never again be like they were under DJRTP.
It's done, they are cooked. Need to hope that WAU or Grove can lead Ford out from under DJR's incompetence, but now they have car and engine under their roof. |

For Ford fans in denial about Herrod's role in Ford's engine issues, read Rod Nash's words:

BMW would prefer production based regulations for the ATCC:
Quote:
https://speedcafe.com/bmw-always-monitoring-supercars/ The ATCC is certainly lacking the production-based synergy that allowed Frank Gardner Racing and LoGaMo to run 635csi and M3 models. Interestingly, Ford Performance already has a production-based GT3 Mustang... Repair concerns around production bodyshells compared to spaceframe silhouette cars are overblown IMO. With Ford Performance IP obviously under continual critical review for value-for-money and ROI, ATCC organisers will be pressed to maintain two manufacturers under Gen 3 let alone find more! Perhaps BOP could be used between Gen 3 cars and front engine GT3 cars, much as LMH and LMDh cars have BOP? Last edited by V8 Fireworks; 14 Feb 2024 at 08:07. |

Transient dyno testing scheduled in Michigan for July. That'll be the last piece of the enhanced measurement puzzle in place for Gen 3.

Is there any logic to doing away with the single fuel filler apparatus and replacing it with the long tried & tested dual siamesed fuel nozzles & apertures in use for seemingly forever?
Instead of boring everyone about tyres, it seems each team has some claim to the flow rates being good or bad of indifferent, if they are working at all… such that the cars don’t take the intended amount of fuel, under or over, and stuffs up the strategy? |

If they moved it to another location (like I don't know, the rear quarter) then they could stick with the siamesed gear, that has proved itself time and again PLUS not have the issue of the refueller and any team member needing to open the door tripping over each other. |

Larko reckons they should re-introduce cockpit adjustable bars.
Could't agree with him more - ridiculous that the bars aren't driver adjustable any more. I reckon we'd get better racing at the front as the good operators can adjust their cars on the fly and have a crack, instead of being stuck with the setup that they have. |

Interesting that Mr SVG on a recent podcast was very negative about the loss of the cockpit adjustment for ARBs. Personally, I think it gives drivers an opportunity to adjust their cars around fuel loads, tyre wear etc and is likely to be better for racing, but I've got no empirical measurement to back that up, just a feeling. |

Perhaps the bar adjustments would allow for changes to the car every single lap, as Mr Van Gisbergen used to do, almost corner to corner alongside twiddling the brake bias controls.
If the series puts the control of these things back in the hands of the drivers, perhaps it reduces the need/talent of engineers to get the car in the window, and adjust it at various pit stops… Can recall in the PCR days, when the ex-Briggs/888 car was being repaired after a decent sized crash, the team borrowed a shell from LMS which had adjustable roll bars, while their original car did not. Speed and consistency apparently improved significantly… That said… it probably won’t help the mobs with all the gear and very little idea… |
