I often fondly recall my Frogeye Sprite . Every weekend it was round to my mates farm and do some welding normally around where the 1/4 elliptical springs were mounted. . I then progressed to a TR4 which was much faster . I could clock up to 120 mph on a good day . Whilst all this was going on we were building my first race car . Talked about on here many years ago the GT6. The TR had to go and ex GPO van was used to collect parts for the build . I remember when I purchased the fiberglass front end . Strapped on to the roof of the van. I went over a motor way bridge on the way back to my lockup and noticed the front end was flying through the air . We recovered by clambering down the hard shoulder banking . Lucky no harm done and I went on my merry way . Most happy days . It will all be in the book . Sorry to my much loved MG friends it was an Austin Healey that started this story . Me and Mrs Delta in Lake District for a week so you might be getting a few more Delta stories .?

MX 5 is already a new name for the Mazda, born Miata. Miata? Many cars could be rebranded as My Tata now…

Well it is rather wet . There are plenty of pubs and unlike people down south the locals like to chat . ?

I used to.work for a cycle touring company that has a cycle centre in Windermere Station. I used to know some.good cycle routes round there - alas it was 20 years ago so my memory has dimmed! Wiltshire to Windermere and back in a day was a regular trip.
November isn't a bad time to go. It always rains anyway and at least the roads are quieter. Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk |

That was it.
Funny how worlds collide isn't it? On FB I'm a member of a group devoted to the Great British Pub. Tonight, up popped one from my old stomping ground and I commented I am old enough to remember its previous name which changed some half a century ago. Next thing, there's a bloke on there saying "I remember you and your dad racing at Castle Combe." Like I said, when worlds collide it makes ne think. I really didn't expect my less than glorious racing past to crop up on a totally unrelated page. Or is it just that motor racing and beer go together like - "a horse and carriage"? I'd love to see the Venn diagram Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk |

Talking about pubs and Facebook, I saw mention of a pub that I knew of that was in the Chalk Farm/Primrose Hill area of North London that was renamed to something like the Lotus 7. It was refurbished in the theme of the car, and was re-opened by Colin Chapman in December 1970.
Considering that this area was part of my happy hunting ground back then, I am amazed that I was totally unaware of this, especially as a a young lady where worked part-time with, happened to be the girlfriend of a chap by the name of Tim Goss who raced a 7 in Clubmans back then, and neither of them mentioned it. And it was only a mile or so away, and even my friend who I worked with in another part time job at another pub - with whom I shared a large lock-up where he was building a twin cam Anglia for racing - also must have been unaware, because we would have gone to have a look over it. |

News for Radio 2 emigrés is that Zöe Ball is leaving the Breakfast Show to be replaced with Scott Mills. Trevor Nelson is taking over the afternoon slot with DJ Spoony moving to late night midweek.
These changes probably won't bring you back. To my mind, it just emphasises that Radio 2 is defining its demographic as being firmly 40-55 year olds. I still enjoy it despite being just outside the parameters. Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk |

I won't miss Zoe Ball either. The trouble is Scott Mills won't lure me back either.
Trevor Nelson may be an improvement though. |
