Blimey! Finally got myself along to see a World Superbike meeting at Brands today - bloody excellent!
Gutted to hear that Haga had been banned, but there was always the Brit boys to keep us interested... and they did that in style!
John Reynolds took the win in round 1, but the star of the race was Colin Edwards who stormed through the field with an awesome ride - what seemed like 2 seconds a lap quicker than anyone else - before dropping it at Graham Hill bend.
Neil Hodgson trailed in fourth, but was back up at the front in race two - leading, before being passed by Edwards. He followed him - right up his chuff - for many laps before pulling out of the race with mechanical failure before the end. This left the way open for crowd favourite, Chris Walker to take second, ahead of Frankie Chilli - who proceeded to strip to his Y front on the slow down lap!
I think this puts a cap on an amazing season's exploits by the Brit boys in Superbikes - we may have lost Foggy, but we've gained a whole load of new talent
Roll on new year so we can see how they do when they move up to a full attack on the series...
