RickP:Clio51 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the gridRickP:Clio51 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Ok folks,
I will sort out a special prize, to be decided based on who wins and whether I like them, (so don't bother entering Danielsun as a can of dog food may cause offence...)
The question is this...

I am racing next weekend , October 22nd (assuming the deal comes off)in an officially sanctioned motor race...
All I need for the prize is the winner to post here what I'm racing in and where...

Clues are that I won't drive anything without a roof and I wont drive anything with less than 179bhp nor compete in a Winter series...

Guesses?

European V6 Clios ? I'm buggered if I can find a calendar for them though... so that remains a total guess!

I reckon it's either rallycross or drag racing...

That way, staying on the tarmac shouldn't be a problem!!

Sorry Rick. What do I win...?

Knowing Rick, I'd hazard a guess at Porsches at Donington Park

That or the FIA GT championship at Magny-Cours

Good performance by Maisie, bit of a double guess, but correct, FIA GT at Magny Cours in a 911 GT3R, picture at http://www.simmo.com, I'm not in the slighest bit excited (yeah right!)
Two pit lane type passes to the first UK race I compete next year suitable prize?

Wow, Rick! That's fantastic! How on earth did you swing that one? Must just've been the natural charm

Pitlane passes will do splendidly - thanks!

I used to race with the cars owner in Super Coupes, the Magny Cours race is 3 hour and he needed a 3rd driver. I said I'd think about it for a couple of seconds...

Now I've said yes, total panic has ensued, had to get a medical for the International licence, had to send off to get aforesaid licence... now waiting for the postman...
I wasn't going to race in my Busby yellow clio suit and my previous suit fitted my previous waistline so I had to order a new race suit (to be delivered to the circuit) and since my crash helmet is no longer valid for Intl use I've had to buy one of those too...
But obviously, you can't race in a plain white crash hat? So the helmet has been dispatched to Belgium to be painted in a big hurry, to be delivered to my hotel middle of next week!
Then it struck me I'd need a radio in the crash hat, (well if I'm in the car for an hour I'm going to need some music!), so that had to be ordered as well!
Hopefully everything will converge at Magny next Thursday!

Hope it all goes well - race reports eagerly anticipated. Is it going to be covered on TV at all?

Got a strange feeling the GTs sometimes get live coverage on Eurosport... but I can't find anything about it on their site...
Anyone got a clues as to where they've seen the FIA GTs? I thought I saw them on Sky recently?

... which would be great if we either had satellite, or lived in a less godforsaken area of the country and could get decent digital TV

Do you think you're going to be able to sing along for an hour? And you'll need a pretty good aerial if you want to avoid picking up French music

Hey! Good luck though. Try to avoid green cars, and lurid slides on the first lap

Sadly everything was ready to converge on MC except the engine for the car... it needs too much work to get it ready in time and we are unable to lease another one...
So it is all off.

Slightly gutted...

Oh no! Sorry to hear that Rick.. Sounded as if you had just about everything else covered. You could always come to Pembrey and race a truck or a 2CV though

That's a shame Rick. Was this just a complete one off or do you think you might still have an opportunity to get in that car?

When down to Dijon Prenois on Sat and there was a Porsche day going on, a couple of the GT teams were there so I had a bit of a chat...
Sounds like I could get a ride for the Daytona, assuming I can come up with a suitable amount of wedge...
