I woudnt get ur hopes up too soon, the Nurburgring or Donnington park seems more likely, and better venues.

No I dont think so, Estroil has no real history with the ALMS at least Donnington Held a sucessful ELMS round in 2001 and the Nurburgring has a lot more history and prestige than Estoril.

Scott Atherton is quoted as saying a European ALMS event next year is unlikely now.

Is he? I thought he said that 2 events are out of the question now but one was still going ahead as planned.

It wasnt as sucessful as at Donnington park, I know that the LMP900 cars had left because of the ALMS starting but even in GTS there wasnt the competiton, only the RML Saleen and Konrad Saleen and the Brook speed viper (ex British GT team.) If I remember correctly and a Porsche GT2. The reason for that being simply because the ALMS had started I find unlikley as in the last race at Valluenga had 3 GTS cars those being the RML Saleen and Konrad Saleen as well as the Porsche 911 GT2.
Also in the last race there was 2 LMP900 cars the Panoz and Gulf Audi and the Dabora in the LMP675 cars. In the Estoril race there was only 2 LMP675 cars also those being the Pilbeim and the Dabora. |

Sorry, Saleen you didn't see the same race (ELMS Estoril) than me. Only 2 LMP675 cars??? Sorry You are wrong!!! Also in Estoril race there was 2 LMP900 cars: the Pescarolo Courage and Gulf Audi, and the Debora in the LMP675 cars.

Saleen i bet u didnt see live and in tecnhicolor the Gulf Audi crash ... and i mean huge crash !!!
I was standing in the pit wall when De Richebourg gently touched Coronel right rear ... and it all started ... it was scary and huge !!! Glad everyone was ok. I dont think it was only the Courage's fault ... Coronel could have avvoid it ... they were separeted by 1 lap ... there was no point in fighting ! |

Whoops 3 LMP900 cars I forgot about them. Then again the Courage against the Audi now that was intresting.....NOT I think the Audi blew it away if I remember rightly. Also SFONESCA what were the other cars in the LMP675? According to the entry list there was only the Pilbeim and Dabora take a look http://www.motorsport.com/news/artic...=69433&FS=ELMS Hardly a strong line up at the last race of the season the grid was practically as strong the only differnce was there was no Courage or the Pilbeim, and the Viper had been replaced by a Porsche 911 GT2.
A huge crash in a race, does that make it sucessful? Hmm not in my eyes. Most people go to races for close exiting fast racing, not crashes if I wanted crashes Id go to my local stock car race and watch banger racing. |

Gulf Audi crash was not De Richebourg's fault, ok, he touched Coronel but it wasn't with bad intentions. The public was loving that Green-Blue fight...
Saleen I bet you didnt see the race... |

Sorry man, you are so stubborn! Do you want the cup? Take it!!
Now, I know you never saw the ELMS Estoril race. IF ALMS come to Portugal, I'll invite you to watch the race in the circuit. Ok? Last edited by SFonseca; 3 Dec 2002 at 17:03. |
