Well, two times 2nd overall in French F3. And he did only have one season in F3000... I say give him a chance if he gets the seat. There have been worse!

That's true. Although nothing "stunning", he did generally keep the car pointing the right way in F3000. He's done a few laps in the Renault F1 car too, so with his experience I don't see him being overwhelmed by a Champ Car.

But Tiago's personal sponsors of Brose, Brisa, and Iberotel don't get much out of him running in CART without CART being in Portugal. Does he get himself a seat based on the spectacular resume without the funding?

The only good part of Monteiro's resume is his name. Last year his car usually came back into the garage a lot lighter of carbon fibre than it was. He has a ton of backing from Renault Portugal, probably thru family connections, which is the only reason he is still racing.

I think CART may be looking at Portugal for 2004. And I think that's the reason why Tiago might upend Max for this seat.

If Andre Lotterer doesn't get a drive, I'm taking this guy for Team TGIF. I like his name and I think it'd be funny to hear him and Bruno trying to talk to each other.
I hope he looks good in a pink dance frock. (See our press release for details. ) |

Taigo should get a CART seat. He is a decent driver.
