What ever became of Andre Ribiero after his disaterous season with Penske?

I read a Car and Driver article that mentioned he was driving the medical car in F1 for the first lap. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, as the cars take off @ the start, a medical car chases after them incase there is an accident. I think it's an AMG Wagon or something.

If, I'm not mistaken, you're refering to Syd Watkins's chauffer Alex Ribiero and not Andre. Secondly, I believe Andre left racing to operate a chain of car dealerships(Honda, Merc.?) in his native Brazil in limited partnership with Roger Penske.
I recall Andre as quite solid from a PR standpoint as his interviews were quite friendly, and non-robotic. A shame his earlier fortunes didn't carry over with Penske. Likely, he joined the wrong team at the wrong time. |
