Best Barrichello performance
Now for a new 'best performance' thread, this time dedicated to Rubinho!
I would say Hockenheim 2000. |

Isn't this poll a bit short of options? I think youv'e forgotten about Aida in 1994 when he came third, the pole lap and subsequent strong race (until he crashed it) at Belgium 1995, France 1999 where he took pole and led large parts of the race before coming in third, and Hungary 1995, where only a last-lap failure cost him third.
All the same, my choice was Hockenheim 2000 - after being unlucky in qualifying his aggressive driving in the early satges was superb, as was his control late on, although he was a little lucky to win. Donnington 1993 comes close of course. That was the first F1 race I vivdly remember, and I was mesmerised by Senna and Rubens that day. I've always liked Rubens ever sicne, its only really been sicne he joined Ferrari that I've came to see that he's not really a natural champion - a lot of the reasons for this are down to his personality. |

Hockenheim 2000. It's the only one I can really remember where his performance truly stood out... although that comes from a poor memory at the moment...

Qualifying in Argentina in 97 when Jackie Stewart promised him a new rolex if he could qualify the Stewart in the top six. Reubens did and threw away his watch as he got out of the car after qualifying finished.

Germany 2000 was pretty good, and he did well from last at the 2002 British GP.

I remember his Donny drive simply for the fact that at one point he was the only driver not to have been lapped by Senna!
He was running 3rd when a fuel pick up problem put him out of the race with just a few laps left. Oh and you remember Senna's lap? Well few remember Rubens going from 12th to 4th in the same period...... all in his 3rd GP! But despite that I had to vote Hockenheim..... amazingly unbelievable! |

Hockenheim 2000 was a great race (and, to the debate above -he was driving for Ferrari by then), but he did require that idiot spectator to come on to the track and cause a safety car - then McLaren bodged DC's strategy. Therefore, I think I'd put Monaco 1997 and Austria 2002 - but for the last 100 yards - above it. To be quicker than Schuey over a whole weekend in that manner, in the same car, takes some doing even if it is Michael's least favourite circuit. Silverstone 2002 was also pretty good, though conditions probably worked to the Ferrari's Bridgestones advantage.
PS. I love these 'Best drive' threads. |

Ive gone for Donnington 93.......that was great drive from a very young Rubens in a middle / low order team.
