The craziest GP ever
Let's forget all the discussion for a moment. To this topic, it does not matter who really won, and what caused the accidents. Let's think only on the race.
This was one of the craziests races of all the F1 history. Rain, accidents, undecision about the winner, no third place on podium... But there was some races that was as confuse as this one. So, the question is: What GP was the craziest above all the 700 races runned? In order: 1) Monaco 1996 2) Brazil 2003 3) Belgium 1998 (I've only 10 years of F1, so I'll stay with these GPs, despĂ*te I know there was a lot of confused ones) And for you? What is the craziest? |

I can't remeber the exact year (early '80's? I was only a very small sprog then) but it was at Monaco and on the last lap people kept crashing or running out of fuel and everyone was sat waiting for a winner!

The race when about 1/3 of the cars were written off on the first bend. I think it was Australia about 3 years ago.

Add to the list Monaco 1982, one of the few crazy races that didn't involve any rain.

This to me was the maddest race ever. Monaco 1996 was great, but there was little overtaking.

Then there was Adelaide where Senna came out of the mist and ran into somebody. Or Spa when there was one helluva prang after the start.
Nothing really crazy about this race - the drivers knew turn 3 was treacherous and should have gone round that bend as if there was oil on the track. I mean, it didn't just happen suddenly, did it. The water was there for the entire race. |

There was so much uncertainty with this one. Would it start at all? was on somepeoples lips 2 hours before the race, then a dramatic race, overtaking, crashes, safety cars, red flag...EVERYTHING!
And then the result, and the runner up catching fire in parc ferme....just madness! |

It was a very dangerious race to begin with seeing puddles of water streaming at turn 3. Many cars were not lucky in go through it. Lap 55 was an incident that caused the race to stop completely seeing Mark Webber crashing into the wall causing debris to be spread in the front stretch. No track worker didn't put up a caution flag to warn other drivers. Fernando Alonso was the victim of the debris hitting the tire and smashed head on into the wall several times. Both Webber and Alonso are ok. Somebody could have been killed today because of that incident. The FIA should review safety procedures to insure everyone including the drivers to have a safe race.

Germany 2000 is still the best grand prix I have ever seen. Yesterday's race and Spa 1998 are close second.

For me Belgium 1998 is just ahead of Brazil 2003 and Europe 1999.

For mine that race is certainly up there with Monaco 82 & Europe 99 as the craziest G.P.'s i've seen.

Monaco 1982 - the race no-one wanted to win.
Spa in 1998 was pretty crazy as was Europe 1999. And it was great to see in both races teams outside the top 3 take victory, which just added to the craziness of it all! |

Canada 1973. Who was the genuine winner of that race?
