Hmmm.
After a veeeery tardy start I thought Mickey-the-shoe did an excellent job to finish third. Hakkinen suffered from depression as much as a slightly off colour engine. DC won with some style, using the “Mansell” manoeuvre, on RB. Great dice between Ralf and Michael at the start. Button deservedly scored two points and is now proving his worth in terms of racing rather than publicity. Poor old HHF. A class drive brought to a halt by an unfortunate gremlin, but Jordan still proved to be far superior to BAR and Villeneuve. In all an enthralling race. We even got overtaking. Also there were some shots of the Minardis (retiring or being lapped) likewise the Arrows. Just a thought but could it be that Ferrari were the other team (Benetton being the popular choice) using traction control? And just a thought for all those fans who made the effort to be there. Well done. |

Jacques and Ralph... the drives of the race. It was thrilling to watch a BAR hold up a Ferrari. Overall a pretty good race.

As Jacques has never made a secret of his less-than-no admiration for TGF, I quite enjoyed, as much as he probably did himself, seeing him keep the Impatient German at bay for as long as he did.
Poor Frenzy. He sounded so depressed when he was talking to Louise ... |
