Is it just me.. or does this years calendar seem a little disjointed. Ok Powertour and BTCC are pretty straight forward, but club racing seems to fit round it all rather awkwardly.. There's loads of meetings which clash, and my marshalling season doesn't start until Easter Monday.

Tell me I'm wrong, but could club racing suffer??

Quite probably, Dano.

Much of this is obviously to do with the last minute Octagon/BHLG tie-up with the BRDC/Silverstone and Octagon's BMP taking over the promotion of Powertour and the BTCC - i'm sure that 2002 will be a lot more organised all around - unlike the BHLG of old, they seem to realise that, to make money, they need to work with everyone in the sport...

Unfortunately, I think that club racing will always be a bit 'shuffled' in order to fit in with the major events. I agree with Craig - because of Octogaon/BHLG tie up, this always leans towards upset, as some people will call it and uncertainty with change. It is the same old story that new changes bring upheaval that will eventually iron out. Club races are fun (from a spectator's point of view) and will always have room on my calendar
