Bonomi--surely even Emmo would be Embarrassed by your mentioning him as a team boss (with Wilson); the man deserves to have that forgotten...

Tom Walkinshaw is a great team boss, just not in the later years in F1.
Think bigger picture and what he achieved in (good) touring cars and sportscars. Wow. Oh and he sacked Jos once. A minor detail. |

1. Frank Williams - In it simply for the love of the game. Refuses to hand over anything to a manufacturer. Greatest will-to-win.
2. Colin Chapman - The revolution leader of F1 for two decades. 3. Giancarlo Minardi - Built his little team up to become the most popular in the paddock. Never say die attitude. 4. Eddie Jordan - Last of the great characters in the pitlane. 5. Peter Sauber - Despite being stuck in Hinwil, Switzerland, he's still making a go of it. He's a quiet man who gets the job done. |

Stoddy: He loves F1. I tend to think it's affected his other business but love does strange things to a man. And he won't bow out. F1 needs privateers like him. Also, he's great to his drivers & team. He thanks them first, and gives them chances.
Frank: I don't particularly like Williams and some of his views, but his attitude to racing is highly commendable especially when you consider the position he is in. Jordan: Here's a charismatic bugger if there ever was one. Loves his sport, loves his team, and is determined to get back up the top and fighting again. For a short while too, it was coming good. All he needs is a small puff of good fortune, and he'll make use of it. Chapman: Managed the team and lead the design of some brilliant, hell, visionary racecars. If only for his incredible design prowess for the day, I think he is brilliant. Dunno if I can say I like any others barring Enzo Ferrari for his dedication to the sport. |

Lot of variance here among posters!
Abiding to current bosses my five favs are: Stoddard: I like so many people put him in their lists, but, on the other side, it shows how many people from Australia there are here . I like him because he is respecting the work of Giancarlo Minardi and it is not easy (low budget and decnt on and off road) Todt: These years have been too good to not mention him. He was good in rallyes too. Dennis: The same about mainly mid 80s and also late 90s Williams&Head: Not the most pleasant people perhaps (too harsh with drivers) but already in F1 history... and it goes on. Briatore: the man is everything except dull, boring character. And somehow he has succeeded where more "illustrous" people have failed. He is doing it again (or someone thinks manufacturer gift managerial jobs just for free?) Sauber/Jordan: I admire both of them for the racing spirit, the decent work they put and the nice personality they seem to be. In a historical view, from 1970 to now, I'd choose Chapman, Ferrari, and Tyrrell. BTW, I can confirm Chappy is alive, I saw him in TV last week :'-) |

I'm suprised no one has mentioned world championship winning team boss from the 60s, Mr Iso Yamura, the man who was able to get the best out of American Pete Aron in 1966

1 - Dr Edmund jordan - Fantastic guy and the only real teamboss who started with pennys and ended up with millions. All the others was born with a silver spoon in their mouth. He really is in it for the love of the sport and a laugh
2 - Ken tyrell - The worst thing he ever did was sell up to british american tobacco although rumor has it he was forced to sell up by adolf eccelstein 3 - giancarlo minardi. Survived for years as a cashstrapped team boss yet was not a whinger like mr stoddard. 4 - Paul stoddard. Bringing drama into the sport 5 - |

Guys - I'm far too young for some of these people!!
1. Ken Tyrell - Just a fantastic bloke and team owner. What a gentleman 2. Eddie Jordan - Honest, always willing to chat and one hell of a personality - one for the fans I think 3. Paul Stoddart - Another great bloke and amazing what he does with the team for the money - what a bringer on of talent as well! 4. Dave Richards - I think he is turning BAR around and it will come very good. 5. Jointly Ron Dennis - Not a great fan but admire the way he has built up the team to now be worth millions - a very clever bloke Jean Todt - has turned Ferrari around - no doubt - but very against this build the team around one driver and number 1 and 2 status - team orders - big no no! Frank Williams - Again big respect - built a team up from nothing to be one of the most successful teams in history - a very shrewd businessman - but will NEVER NEVER forgive him for what he did to Damon - especially so late in the season that he couldn't get another decent drive. He treats his drivers like s**t!! |

But, as an afterthought, who would I pick if I were forming an F1 team? Toughie. Ten years ago, Daniel Sexton Gurney. Now? Reinhold Joest.

1 Frank williams -competitive and a gentleman.Doesn't mind taking a step back to go two steps forward.Bad side(if you could call it that)...really doesn't care about drivers championship-only the constructors points matter
2 Ron dennis -extremely competitive and honest.Bad stuff-unnessesary way of complicating things(speech!),insults us by rehiring bl**dy coulthard every year!!!!! Peter sauber does a better job than an english team would with the same engine and budget(....ok,that's a big maybe.Nevertheless,he gets my respect in the face of those incredibly annoying brits who say it can't be done outside england).Bad stuff?seems a little too content just being in f1 flav.Yes THAT annoying dude.He does most things right-hires good people and lets them get on with it. Bad..fools around with drivers cars(you're doing good-have the best car),Talk pure bovine sometimes EJ.Used to be very interesting and deserved his fans.Too much of the fia yes man these days. Stoddy.Very rich complainer.Spend some of your own money idiot!! |

Best team bosses:
1. Ken Tyrell - had been running a great creative team introduced a lot of ideas 2. Colin Chapman - (I wish I saw his team fighting, unfortunatelly I've joint F1 support too late) 3. Sir Frank Williams - great fighter, started from scratches and never had given up 4. Sir Jackie Steward - built very competitive team for two years 5. Giancarlo Minardi - (no comments!!!) Worst bosses: 1. Nicky Lauda - destroyed all Steward had built 2. Craig Pollock - couldn't run a team with BAT money and world champion driver 3. Alain Prost - super driver, but not a team manager 4. Tom Walkingshaw - not F1 type of manager 5. Benneton - don't remember his first name but it's a guy who run Benneton before it became Renault, it was the worst year of the team |

Ummm, it wasn't Lauda that destroyed all that Sir Jackie Stewart had built, it were the corporate suits of Ford that destroyed what Sir Jackie Stewart had built.
As for Benetton, it's Flavio Briatore. (or David Richards, but that's unlikely) |

As for Benetton there was a member of Benetton family who had been in charge during one year before Flavio came back. Layman in F1! |
