I think it is a good move - Justin can learn a lot off Mark.

No, Mark can learn off him! Who won F3000 in 2001?

Well Pizzonia's turned down the chance to be test/reserve driver for Jag (Davidson's safe then )
Antonio said "The sudden decision by Jaguar Racing not to let me continue as a full-time Formula One driver for the team came as a complete shock to me" - well it didn't come as a shock to the rest of us! |

Wilson at Jag would not be the best thing for Jag at this time
So said a certain Mark Webber on 10 Jul 2003 in another thread. Nice to know they don't tell anyone anything! Personally I think this a mistake all round - Don't get me wrong it will be great to see Justion in a mor competitive car - but to me this just puts him under huge amounts of pressure. At Minardi - he could have continued honing his craft ready for a better drive next year - now it is all on Justin to perform. Jag want two competitive cars - but is it right to ask this of Justin with half a season of F1 experience at the back of the grid. Is he the right choice to suddenly be up there with Webber - I think they are expecting too much. Also I think it is awful how they have just dumped Pizzonia - yes I am upset as he was my next tip for F1 stardom a couple of years ago - but has he really done that bad a job ? Surely it is not unreasonable in any Formula to take half a season to learn the ropes and at Silverstone he was turning the corner - outqualifying Webber and racing well. Did Jag make him look deliberately stupid by pitting him as the safety car came in ? I agree that I think Pizzonia has done better in the Jag this year than Sato did in the Jordan last year and probably no worse than Firman is doing in the Jordan this year - but it takes a bit of time. Also I think Pizzonia was where the Jag actually is at the mo and it is Webber who is making the car look good. I think this will now be make or break for Justin - if he doesn't perform in the last 5 races now - I feel this could be the end of his F1 career whereas at Minardi it was just the start. I think Pizzonia has been treated the same as Magnussen - badly - one the decision is made you are out whatever you do and I think both of these drivers should have been given a longer chance! Good luck Justin - I have a feeling you may need it ! |

hmmm well he was told a couple of months ago that he'd see out the season, after that I think alot of people thought he would.
Now seems naive given Jaguars track record.... makes you wonder who's next to get fired! |

I doubt Jaguar would sign a driver without checking he fitted in the cockpit... people may dislike them but they're not that daft. Wilson is only 2 niches or so taller than Webber so it'll make changing settings/pedals etc. a lot easier than when Pizzonia was driving.

This is very harsh on Pizzonia. He has improved a hell of a lot in recent races. He's had terrible reliability. And he deserved to finish the year out at the very least.

he is a though wilson drives to the end of the year so paul gets a better engine deal . Davidson hang around does some testing while wilson warms his set up for next year .
Webber and Davidson are the drivers next year . I Hope this IS not the plan |

Talk like that means it is over
Thread Closed Of course fell free to start another thread. A different angle maybe? How well will he go? Will he and Webber work well together. What are there strengths/weaknesses? Are Busted the greateest boy band ever (actually no that one will be deleted!)? How many races before Jaguar have another change of driver or management? |
