Old man Perkins has come out and said that he is serious about winning this years Championship. Do you think we have heard this before?
Also, if he doesn't pull he finger out, will he give the driving side of it away? The guy obviously can still match it with the best of them (look at his front row start at Calder last year) but is he past it, in the sprint rounds at least? Also, will Russell keep it on the straight and narrow, and win this thing, after coming close a few times late last century? |

Larry seems to lack some motivation, he makes this promise every year and fails to deliver.
Russell does seem to act first and think later, while ever he keeps that up he'll win races, but not championships. |

Larry is past it ... he should follow the lead of Brock and Johnson and retire.

Old man Larry is still running strongly so he doesn't have to retire if he doesn't want to.
Larry usually doesn't say he'll go out and win the championship, in fact I don't remember saying HE would win it. It has been said Ingall might in previous years though. |

it's true, Larry doesn't HAVE TO retire ... but perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea for him to just run the enduro's, which we all know he is very, very good at, and put someone else in the driver's seat for the sprints. Up to good old Larry at the end of the day, though!!

I dont agree with any of this - touring cars are about entertainment. Thats the bottom line. As far as everyone who just sits here like couch potatoes and watches, its all about making YOU feel like you have seen a good race. And Larry does that - he maintains a decent level of competition, a top level team, employs younger drivers and keeps a professional attitude in SATCC.
You have Lowndes, The Rat, Skaife, Bright, Ingall, Johnson Jnr etc etc - so what are you all whinging about? Are they not enough to entertain you? No - you want parity with drivers - make them all the same. Who is going to be bored THEN?? Larry is still a racer, still puts in his 100% and still makes me proud to be a supporter of Castrol Perkins Racing. As for the enduro racing - as if he is going to be able to hire a bright talent good enough to take his place, and then expect them to bow out of the drivers seat everytime Bathurst or an enduro comes around? Larry is still more than good enough to be a full time racer, and he also has enough self respect to retire when the time is right. And trust me, when the year comes, he will not have himself paraded around like a pony for the year, he will simply finish the season and announce his decision later. |

The fact Larry pays the bills gives him every right to be there.
I'm just grateful he isn't so quick anymore! Larry probably did OK until the special on the ABC last year. Now I'm surprised people still support the opinionated twit, sorry Dia. |

I agree Big Al, and I also think he would have to win the prize for the amount of times the F word was used on the ABC in 1 hour.If he had to put a dollar in the jar everytime he used it, chances are Russell wouldn't have been paid last year. As for his driving performance, I hope he stays as the more Holdens out there that are slow, the better.Ford to win !!!!!
