From www.wrc.com
"It was based on a couple of things," Burns told wrc.com. "Not so much the feeling of the car, but the feeling that I got from the team. I think I can help develop a car quite well, and I just had a bit of a feeling that I wouldn't be allowed to." He said the decision wasn't all his own. "I also don't want to say that it's like a total decision on either my side or Peugeot's," he continued." It was more like a mutual 'Is this going to work? Probably not.' Once I had that answer in my head then I knew I could look for something that was going to work." |

Sounds reasonable. And honest of him to own up to it being a mutual thing...
David, ok I'll admit his time at Peugeot has not been a roaring success, and there'll be no little irony if he winds up winning the championship this season having not won a rally for two years! But 'failure' is a strong word - it's just been one of those moves that didn't work out. It happens. There's alot to read into his quote above. It was always obvious he never got comfortable in the 206, but his comments about the team suggest he wouldn't get the opportunity to put that right in the 307 either. |

I hope Burns wins the championship as I am the only one in the tipping comp I'm in to have picked him!
