FRenault Testing Oulton: Hamilton Missing
So, no Lewis.
First session Rossiter fastest (by almost half a second) from Conway, Scott (Fortec 1-2-3), then Lloyd and Stoddart. Spencer down in 14th and Ranger 24th and last managing just three laps - did he go off? Oliver Jarvis out with Motaworld and 11th fastest. A Brazilian driver called Alan Khodair driving for Manor (I guess in Lewis's vacant car). Anyone know anything of him? Also (I guess this is one for Mr Jinxx) is there any truth in the rumours that Nigel Mansell is helping Alex Lloyd's career in any way? |

Chengs making a bit of progress isn't he? It can't be easy for a Chinese person to come over here and fit in easily. And Manor set-ups or not (and I doubt it) the Hill Speed car is not the best car on the track either, being similar quality, one would imagine to a Welch or Jensen car.

Is Andrew Ranger racing this weekend then, or am I right in thinking he has a clashing Fran-Am race that'll take priority?
From doing a bit of digging, it looks like Allam Khodair is the current Brazilian Formula Renault championship leader. 13th fastest overall at the end of the day. Agreed, Jarvis did well to end the day 9th fastest on combined times. |

Not sure, I wasn't expecting Ranger to be testing..
The Fran-Am race would have to take priority as he's good a good chance of wrapping up the title, and if that's this Saturday then surely the Sunday Oulton race is a no-no? As for who else is missing, no Eurotek or Jensen cars out there today. So no Kershaw, Petrov (shame, I was impressed by him at Donny) or Mussi either. |

Seems a bit strange that he's not included on the combined classification at the end of the MST timesheets..

worth making noise about john byrne too, he seems to be learning and improving quite quickly now. he was competitive at donington and he's competitive at oulton too. 8th overall isn't too shabby at all.

Yep, fully agreed there - started paying attention to John after the Donny DTM round & meeting him in the paddock, and have been watching his results getting better all the time.
Considering these results are coming only about four months after he first tested a single seater of any kind, they are impressive. |

Seems Hamilton was testing F3 at Snett - see other thread - so will he be at Oulton to race at the weekend?
Agreed about Byrne - at this rate of progress its a real shame that he has not contested the whole series - hopefully he will sign up again for next year. Credit to Falcon too for giving him a good car. |

Hamilton is not competing this week he is doing the F3 round and not doing F Renault. Secondly Eurotek have disbanded they dont have a car, and so far as I know Team Managers gone back to Oz, and all the rest of the team have left!?

What F3 round? The one at Brands next week, or a European one?

I think British, he's not at Zandvoort, and Manor have a seat left since Fabi's departure.
