There's something happening in London sometime soon - but the Daily Splodge Motor Show Live is next year at the NEC...

There is an event called 'mph03' at Earl's Court in a few weeks, it looks like it is a Jezza Clarkson stand-up show. There is a website somewhere, probably http://www.mph03.co.uk

There is a proper Motorshow at the NEC next summer (not Autumn as usual) for which tickets are on sale already.

Motorshow Live is May next year - www.motorshowlive.com. Described as being " bigger than ever with interactive experiences like stunt shows, 4x4 driving, rally race courses and a driving school."

Not forgetting of course hoards of kids fighting to grab handouts about the latest dull Eurobox. Come on admit it, we've all done it at least once.

Don't knock it - I was that kid in 1982,83 and 84, managed to scoop up just about every brochure for those years' releases and held on to them. About three years ago, I got tired of giving space to publicity material for Skoda Estelles, Mk5 Cortinas, Zastava Yugos and the all-new Lancia Trevi and bunged the whole lot on eBay.

Ten days later, I was $1000 richer and 27 kilos of publicity material was heading off to a library in San Diego.

I wonder what the car enthusiasts of California made of the 1982 Dacia Denem - the Romanian licence-built Renault 12 which was marketed in the UK for all of 15 months....

I'm not knocking it. I still have an almost unliftable box-full sitting in my parent's loft. All late 70's - early 80's. Mostly Ford, BL, Vauxhall and the like but the odd gem here and there.

Having seen some of the prices at autojumbles and the like I did think about selling them but no idea how best to go about it and what they are worth. I'd probably get less as a job lot but then I'm not sure I want the hassle of running 500+ seperate auctions. Maybe another winter project for me.

Dacia Denem? Car on the leaflet was light brown?
