Likewise a congrats to PT, RHR and Manning.
Just watched the race, had to work early Sunday morning and just couldn't afford to stay up until 3am and get up at six. The funny part though was, while all the changing scripts were more entertaining than a soap-opera, about 3 laps to, the tape ended, and I had to go onto the web to find out if RHR stayed in front or if Manning got him, or if Manning and RHR took each other out and Vasser prevailed! Now having read this stuff, I know what Liz meant in her race report on RFMsports.com when she made the Brambilla comment. got to feel bad for Junky, as he really was dominating wasn't he, and just plain lost out in the luck of the draw. He did however blow it with the crash-(and a darn good thing the 10/10ths membership didn't go down a notch--see Crashtests thread) I really regret not seeing the post race stuff. Will try to see it on cart.com tomorrow. |

rhr had to stay out for one lap longer before last stop due to air pressure problem in pit, and Jimmy arrived unexpected because of radio communication problem then next you know they're 1 and 2....
sometimes it all comes together! and yes Darren Manning is a very likeable chap, his move on jimmy to take 2nd was well executed. |

Reynards and Lolas go bash bash bash...
Well it ended up looking like Dodgem or Bumper cars. I said to myself are all these drivers somehow memerised by the conditions, all having an off day, bad batch of tyres or what?
Then I thought ....well....maybe its the Chassis. Does anyone know if these chassis can be adequately adjusted for rain where you need more compliant suspension? Last edited by 275 GTB-4; 27 Oct 2003 at 11:42. |

Don't know about the chassis but some of the driver's brains could have done with a bit of adjustment. I mean to say wot was THAT all about? Great entertainment tho.
Good work PT and a big up to my countryman and all round good bloke "Dazza" Manning |

Manning's passing move wsas reminiscent of his F3 days. I was hoping we'd see the real Darren again one day!
Interesting about the air pressure problem as the V8 Supercars had a similar issue. Some teams even had their cars coming down off the air jacks in the middle of a tyre change pit stop. It was almost comical to watch two HRT mechanics try to hold a 1350kg race car up by it's front bumper! |
