Not a pretty list. BUT - the amount of injuries have gone down over the years, and the most recent ones (apart from the obvious...) are mostly minor injures.

Yeah, it should also be noted that the first generation true IRL IndyCar chassis was severely flawed - the rear end in particular didn't absorb nearly enough energy.

This, in my opinion, is still a problem today, but thankfully not to the same extent as it used to be.

OH please--If such records had been kept since 1965 or there abouts when the rear-engined cars came to dominate, (for years such records(including minor injuries) were not kept, nor were drivers forced to be examined) it would make the current totals seem just part of the norm.
