Toyota's Main Sponsor
Well, the car is red and white, so I'm guessing it's the much-discussed Coca-Cola sponsorship. Anyone have any ideas?

I believe that Toyota's corporate colours are red and white, so that being the colour of the car, tells us about as much as McLarens always being orange when launched.

I'm willing to buy the Coca-Cola idea... As for RIKBs qualms, Toyota is doing the whole team (chassis and motor) so you can be sure that the car will be red and white (and will have Toyota written all over) Anybody know who sponsored Toyotas sportscars (LM)??

I seem to recall one car having the name Zent on it, I think the other was Esso. But I'm just going by memory. I have no idea who Zent is, if indeed that's who it was. I guess I'm not much help, but Coca-Cola would be a good fit regardless.

Hmmm...
well, I had hoped that this would point us in the direction of a new sponsor, but it looks like it has backfired... oh well, I tried. |

Toyota also have long associations with Castrol both in Europe and in the States.
Its anyone's guess who will step up. I've heard that Coke wants to go to Ferrari-with the withdrawl of Tobacco sponsorship, and thus Phillip Morris, that could be a strong possibility. Coke would rather link with the known entity Ferrari than Toyota. Last edited by EERO; 4 May 2001 at 21:55. |

Does this mean Pepsi will get in on the act as well, some how seeing cars driving round with Pepsi and Coca cola on them doesn't have the desired effect for me.
I really hate anything to do with smoking but Marlboro, JPS, Rothmans etc had some really nice livery . |

Oh Billy, that JPS liverery was sensational. We had some BMW touring cars in those colors in OZ about 15 years ago and they looked fantastic.
