QUALIFYING: Ferrari on pole, JPM on the front row and WHERE ARE THE McL's??
Coo! TGF on the pole for the first time in Austria.
JPM on the FRONT ROW!!! And Ralfie in 3rd. Apparently Michelins are inferior here, but that didn't show did it! Alonso is officially GOD. Alesi is proven to be not that good really. But wehre were the McLarens, once so dominant here?? Was it the wind?? But hey, everyone else was on the same track! How many times did JV go off? Did anyone count??!!! |

I've one question for Mika: why didn't he turn off TC for the final quarter of the lap? Ron Dennis has a lot of work to do.
So we have in the first two, the best overtaker and best pole position defender in the business. If Ralf can successfully get away from Barrichello, he would have a chance of winning the race. |

Well strange, I had premonitions of this weeks race. First, I saw Schumi taking pole just ahead of JPM which happened! and then for the race I saw Schui kicking JPM's ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO SCHUMI!!!!!!!!

Hey that was neutral.
Prediction : you will repent at your leisure. But seriously, whichever way it goes this is a fantastically exciting line up ...let the show begin. |

If JV's back is bothering him that much, he would be better to take the week off and see a doctor. Panis wasn't much better.
I laughed when I heard that JV thinks that BAR can catch Williams! Nice job by Williams for Quali. |

Montoya will take his maiden Grand Prix win tomorrow! And Nick Heidfeld, the best driver on the grid (OK, maybe not), will finish second.
With the McL's so far back, I reckon there's going to be a crash at the first corner. And I fear it will invlove the McLaren's and some one closer to the front. |

Strangely, I find myself going for Michael. But, it's personal and not based on anything tangible to the average race fan.
Correct that, I'll go for Ralf! |

Here's my prediction. One helluva prang at either turn 1 or turn 2, taking out JPM, TGF, Ralf, Rubens, etc., several other top runners have to slow right down, and then the backmarking brigade will have a field day. Expect none of us except Minardi fan to get any points for the predictions competition.

Meanwhile Button Spice is on his knees burning a dozen candles at his local church that both Williams pilots take each other off on the first corner and are sacked, and someone comes to get him out of Benetton Purgatory ...
Nah. Let him suffer. It's good for him. |
