Round 2-IROC Series Tonight!
Just a reminder to those that get Speed Channel.
Tonight at 9 PM, from Texas Motor Speedway, is the second round of the IROC Series, and 3 of our drivers are on the grid, Castroneves, Sharp, and Dixon. They will be starting in the second row, Helio on the inside, Sharp on the outside, and Dixon starts in the third row. The first race was a real gas, and really enjoyable, far better than I thought it would be. Tune in if you can, you won't be disappointed! |

My only beef with IROC is that the NASCAR boys do all of the teaming up and hooking up.....
They don't draft with anyone outside of their own series..... But IROC usually is good action... |

Good race, but another disappointment for our guys. Helio was running strong in 4th, almost all the way to the competition yellow, and then when they re-started he fell way off to 11th. He did manage to get back to 7th, where he finished. He's got the hang of these cars now. Scott Sharp had a great 30 lap duel with Ryan Newman for 6th. Then he finished with another great duel with Travis Kvapil, for 5th, and lost out by 2/1000ths of a second at the finish! So close you couldn't see it with the naked eye. Great finish, but 6th won't cut it here. Forget about Dixon, who finished 9th, and hardly made a move all race. With F1 on his mind, will he take any risks? Here's the order: 1-Lasocki, at least he's not NASCAR! 2-Harvick 3-Johnson 4-Newman, hated to see Sharp lose this duel! 5-Kvapil 6-Sharp, should have been 5th! 7-Castroneves, could have won! Dohhh! 8-Kinser 9-Dixon, F1 dreamin! Oh brother... 10-Yeally, terrible in these cars, again! 11-Busch 12-Kenseth Good race! |
