How about making the engines self starting so that if a drivers stalls anywhere other than in the pits, then their race is not over.

I don't think there's a rule that prevents a car to have an engine starter. It's just that the constructors don't want to uselessly increase the weight of the car.

People are saying F1 would be more exciting without Schumacher, but if he wasn't there we'd have a Raikkonen or an Alonso driving his Ferrari and dominating instead so it makes no difference really! Sorry.

As for self starting...a hot race motor is not easy to start. This is adressed with the motor not stalling in a spin by disengaging from the drivetrain automatically.

In the future (post ms) I will look back and miss watching the most skilled and smartest driver ever to drive f1. Like him or not he has more skill by far than all the rest. It would be nice to see a more even playing field but....at the cost of missing some near perfect drives. I just watched a race from 94 where he was stuck in 5th and finished second. Who else could have done that?
