Should something be kept the same?
In F3000 , everything but the drivers is the same in all cars which leads to close racing. In F1 , there ar no regulations to have this but should something have to be the same in all teams to make the racing better for slower teams and therefore closer. Obviously not engine type but perhaps chassis shape?

Re: Should something be kept the same?
It depends on what the organizers and the teams hope to accomplish of course. In F1, the idea is to encourage - within limits - the development of technology. The difficulty is that if someone comes up with really superior technology, the racing becomes uninteresting. Then the organizers change the rules to level out the playing field or to keep the racing safer. Some of the time they can strike a good balance, and the competition is keen and close. More typically, the F1 system seems to produce a situation where two or three well funded teams can develop better cars than the field. Where one of these gets an edge - such as is now the case - the competition dries up and starts to become boring. Personally, I think there is a place for a series of the F1 type, but the price we pay is the bad patches.
