I'd rather have Servia back than Richie Hearn. Servia was much more competitive and has not made derogatory remarks about CCWS at any time, that I ever heard.

I would like to see both Servia and Townsend Bell back. Mimo Gidley as well. Townsend really deserves another chance and I hope he can find a sponsor that agrees. At one time didn't Servia have the sponsorship of the Spainish telephone company? If so, what happened to that?

Thanks Muzza. If MiJack is going to sponsor a second car as EB has stated today - then why not Servia? We are on a good news run with the exception of Firman.

I didn't know Hearn made derrogatory remarks. If that's the case, I rescind my last post

I've never heard 'em....he's just driven race cars in both CART and the IRL and hasn't involved himself in all of that. That said, I should think the CW "F" list oughta be kept straight for those who want to keep track.

Sebring Testing Update reported from champweb:
"... Jimmy Vasser and Mario Dominguez will join testing on Thursday. Both were at the track today to observe the testing, along with fellow 2003 Champ Car combatants Michel Jourdain Jr. and Oriol Servia..." and again we see the two guys, so I think the deals will happen... |

My wish is for....you guessed it- my old friend Townsend Bell. As several other posters have said, he deserves a second chance, and we could find out once and for all if he's got what it takes to continue the brilliance he showed in Indy Lights. I'd like to think that he'll approach CCWS with a little more maturity this time around with regard to incidents, and hopefully channel that agressiveness into podium finishes.

The Race For South Africa website is now up and running with some content. This is the organization Stephen Watson has put together, and is rumoured to be organizing a Champ Car race in Durban.
No mention of Champ Car on the site yet, but you can watch here.... www.r4sa.com |

My sincere thanks to whatever moderator I owe it. I was snookered and will not let that happen again.

Muggle not, don't feel bad about that one......it hit about five forums that I saw before the hoax was revealed and it was plausible. It didn't last long because the world was searching websites for it.

No cars for sale
What about the Champ Car equipment Team Rahal and Fernandez Racing own? Could a prospective team owner buy that? The teams say they are keeping their hardware for the time being. Rahal general manager Scott Roembke said since Champ Car will keep the same cars for 2005, it makes sense to hang on to theirs. “We’ve got two young drivers in [Toyota] Atlantic and if they want to move up, it would be nice if they didn’t have to go out and buy new equipment. We’ll also test Danica [Patrick] in one of them later in the year.” Fernandez’s Tom Anderson sounded more coy about his cars. In responding to several questions, including one about using the cars themselves, he said: “I don’t know yet.” -------------------------------------- Fernandez, it is said, wants to run Mexico City, which is held three weeks after the end of the IRL season. One question though: Do they still have the engines, which belonged to CCWS, or where are they going to get them? |

I think the engines are still being leased by Cosworth and I'm sure they'll lease one to anybody who has the money. Seems like a plausable business plan anyway......

No, SFKAC/OWRS owns them, leases them to teams and has a rebuild contract with Cosworth.
