Also remember, Jenson is a lot closer and a lot more useful to Lewis than Kovy

But I concur Jensen has taken to the team incredibly well and as I've said before, with a historical perspective very few champions move teams and then retain the WDC. I haven't seen Sunday's race as yet (should get to see it tonight), but by all accounts, including Jenson's own (on twitter), it was dire. Well done to Lewis for getting that second place though. Also as far as other team mates are concerned he's at least keeping Lewis honest this year and that is without the pre season testing that was avaialbe to other team mates previously. I look forward to next year when I think he'll be a lot more competitive having settled into the McLaren team effectively. |

I agree with John that they make a great team and Button has wafted in there effortlessly. You would hope that Lewis and Jenson remain in place for a very long time, it is good for McLaren after the misery of the Alonso year and the outright crappiness of the Heikki seasons.
I have just been slightly disappointed with Jenson on days when the car isn't great, and let's face it that has become more the case as Red Bull and Ferrari have improved their cars in leaps and bounds. He is solid, but when things aren't going so well then I feel JB's rather static approach isn't helpful. You need to make things happen. Equally of course, trying to make things happen can end in disaster as Hamilton has proven. Even so, he has only ended his race all on his own once all year which pales in comparison to the points gained through extracting more in qualifying and hassling the leaders a bit more aggressively on raceday. |
